Good Question: Looking for this chair!

080307teakchairs.jpgATLA reader Hilary is on a mission to find these chairs:

Hi AT:LA,

I recently returned from a lovely vacation in Zihuatanejo, Mexico. My hotel had these very comfortable and interesting teak slat lounge chairs which I would love for my deck. The hotel was unable to tell me where they got them and endless searching online has turned up empty. Any ideas?

Hi Hilary, those are some great looking chairs. We've actually been looking for some too ever since we saw a pair at a vintage store in Palm Springs. Unfortunately they were snatched up before we could get them! The closest thing we've found is this one from Viva Terra but it's not an identical match. We remember also seeing a similar shape, but with string slats, over at IKEA for their recent Summer outdoor collection, but I think most IKEA's have liquidated most of their outdoor offerings. Has anyone else seen these chairs available or know what they are called?

I also went on vacation in Belize and they had these chairs at our cabana. I love them but am not sure where to buy them. The resort we stayed at is very helpful and I am sure if you emailed them, they would tell you. Most of their furniture was from retailers in the US. www.matachica.com
