California Home & Design Magazine Story

vanessa-05-23-.jpgAT:LA's very own Vanessa (aka Turquoise) is in this month's issue of California Home and Design Magazine. The story gives a little bio on Vanessa and talks about her knack for taking tired, yet classic furniture and giving it new life.

Here is the foxy picture of Ms. V. in her sexy, swanky living room in Venice. Nicely done!

Congrats Vanessa! Now, tell the truth, how many copies of the magazine did you buy?

And did you have the overwhelming urge to send them off to someone from your distant past? I bet you did things as a child, creative things, redid Barbie's furniture, or created your own. Colored the chair blue, when everyone else was doing brown, and colored outside the lines, adding in your own flourishes.

Maybe even got some crap about it from some kids, while others thought it was cool and encouraged you.

I'm always interested in how people became what they are, what inspired them, when they began expressing their talents.

If you feel like it, I'd love to hear more details. Not just how you started your business, but the early underpinnings of your talents and success.

When I got my issue I was so exceited I decided to post right away but the impulse got away from me. Wow! I'm so proud that she's one of us.

thanks Holly! That answers some of my questions!

But she looks pissed in your picture. Next time, don't make her sit outside on the stairs. ;)

Ha! You're too funny Andree. I thought just the opposite when I saw that picture of her on the stairs, I thought she looked quite stunning and sophisticated. Vanessa rocks it out! I guess she is just seriously thinking about her next room design in the photo... I actually like seeing photos of people without big plastic smiles, it seems more real... Like Vanessa knows she's all that and doesn't need to pretend for anyone. GO girl!

Glad the interview answered some of your questions - she is such a great person.
