Southwest Semi-Finalist #2: Laure's Sparkling Space

Name: Laure
Location: Venice, CA
Type: 550 sq.ft. 1-bedroom
Go to: Original Entry

Laura's favorite OTHER entry:

Laura's Fresh Start. I love how simple and streamlined her space is. I also love the palette, especially the blue, that she uses throughout the space. It looks livable, modern, and home-y.

What is your next improvement (if you could do anything)?:

Really I have a million of next projects. But the one I will probably work on is totransform my LONG hallway into a landing strip/homage to my ancestors. I love old family photos so I want to create a wall of photos that encompasses both sides of my family. I also want to improve the landing strip I have so that it can accommodate mail and not just things that hang. My hope is that this will make the hall more functional without making it feel cluttered.

Love the collection of very cool lamps! Wish we had more photos of the whole space rather than vignettes, but I can tell you have lovely space. Also, I vote for keeping the bedroom credenza that you featured in your photos!

Resisting wanting to move back to L.A....

This is the perfect apartment for a single person. I am crushing on Laure's and coco's apartment.

Also I wish my mom was on the cover of Elle. Wow!

this one is probably my very favorite of all. its so clean, simple, and bright. it's also closest to my decorating style, so im a bit biased.

Laure, i hope you win, cause it seems like you'd appreciate the prize the most.

Laure- Great job! I especially love the paint colors you chose. Do you remember the names/brands of the paints?

If you want to keep your photos of your Grandma in good condition, you probably shouldn't have them facing a window that lets in a lot of light. Before you know it, they're faded out.

Love this place and you're simply a doll Laure.

This is the loveliest place I've seen. It seems like such a nice place to live, and yet the design is gorgeous as well.

And what a cute cat in the bathroom! Looks like a baby.

You should hang the mirror in the bedroom.

Those bedroom lamps are great! I have no place for them but I want them.

Coco is a cutie.

I'm sure a number of people will be envious of all your "light" in the living room area.

Good Luck!

A warm, inviting, joy-filled place. I could see myself stopping over for a cuppa tea... (with Cocoa greeting me at the door!) (:
A lovely, lovely home you have!

Hey k in ditmas:
check out my original entry for some wider shots of the living room/dining room and bedroom.

I still have the paint cans from painting so I'll post the colors when I am back home!
